Hipster Branding.

Here is a rather fancy Tumblr blog that demonstrates what would happen to the world if all logos were redesigned by hipsters.

Rather impressed by the KFC logo; who would've thought a pair of glasses glasses and a moustache would make my stomach crave chicken! Perhaps it's the 'homely' feel of the logo?

Even a window can be interactive...

Great work from the Students at Hyper Island,

Not only do the passer-bys control the movement of the activist, but they can go online and change the background of the window display making it their own creation. - A much more cool and interesting way to showcase a clothing range.

We look forward to more digital window displays appearing over the coming years. Perhapes one day we could 'try on' clothes digitally in the window display, meaning we wouldn't even have to step into the store?

A relief for the homeless?

After years and years of shouting “Big Issue” at passer-bys, they may now have a new-line to say!

BBH New York are trailing an interesting concept which turns a homeless individual into a 4G hotspot. Customers can then pay the vendor cash, or pay online using paypal to use the service. All the proceeds go straight to the individual.

The human ‘hot-spots’ hung around outside the South By Southwest (SxSW) tech conference in Austin, TX where the usual networks are clogged up with hundreds of tech bloggers and journalists

Visit http://homelesshotspots.org/ to learn more about the project.

Some may argue that this idea makes it ‘too easy’ for vendors to make money. However, they will have to stand still for a long period of time, as to not make customers 'out of range'.

It has also been sparking debates about how ethical the scheme is, as it feels as if it’s turning the homeless into an “object”

Plus, this scheme would probably be less successful if utilised in places such as London, where free Wi-fi connections are plenty.

However, it has definitely got me thinking ‘What else is there that homeless people can provide? - Where is there a need?” We're at a time when there's plenty of freebies flying around (i.e. newspapers, on-line publications, free wi-fi hotspots) so what ELSE is there?

"If you believe in it, then anything is possible."

video

Captivating, inspirational advert from Red Bull features Atheletes who are preparing to compete in their events.
The stunning videography beautifully portrays the idea of pushing our body's boundaries to achieve anything we desire.

"The challenge of my life is to find out how far I can take it.
The only that thing you can think of is that moment right there.
Yo, I'm ready. Let's do this.
If you believe in it, then anything is possible. "

It's raining, it's pouring... but Coca Cola saves the day!

The sky is grey and we've all got wet feet, but that doesn't matter because Coca-Cola are digitally spreading joy.

Coca-Cola have recently been posting riddles on their Facebook fan page. Solve the riddle and you'll have the URL address to a micro-site. Each micro-site contains a "moment of happiness" to experience digitally.
One of the Facebook riddles to solve is:
"Even if they pop I smile,It's no secret why.
The soapy rainbow swirls,
Are magic to my eye.
I love looking up at clouds,
And blowing _ _ _ _ _ _ _ in the _ _ _ .com"

Which leads to a great little microsite whereby you can blow bubbles using your computers in-built microphone and camera. (Or just using the click of a mouse if you're camera shy).

More riddles are appearing everyday. So when you need a couple minutes of happiness, you know where to go; www.facebook.com/cocacola

What digital 'moment of happiness' do you think will be next? Popping bubble wrap? Jumping in puddles?

Nice, fun work by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam. Feels nostalgic yet futuristic.

Try and solve this one without cheating:

"Set them up row after row,
Knock them down and watch them go,
It's a toy that the whole world knows,
The simple joy of F_ L L _ _ _ D_ _ _ _ _ _ _ .com"

Virtually Invisible...Or Is It?

Mercedes-Benz conveyed the message that their new fuel cell
vehicle was invisible to the environment because it produces
zero emissions. They made the car “invisible” with LEDs and
a camera hack that transmitted images from the opposite side
of the car, blending the vehicle in with its surroundings.
We think it's a brilliant collaboration of ingenious creativity and
technology!

Who would live in a house like this?

Just an average man in his apartment searching for the cleanest fork in the drawer.

Or not?

While he was inspecting each fork, his every move was being watched by the hundreds of people who pass through the Paris Metro.

This was all part of an intriguing installation by Ikea France.

The idea was to build an apartment inside a Paris Metro Station to communicate how Ikea furniture can transform small spaces into homes.

The best bit; the apartment came complete with real tenants who blogged about their Metro Station lives on Facebook.

Those on their way to catch a Metro could have a peak-in and see what everyone's up to; is Benjamin still lounging on the stylish sofa and playing with his guitar? What sort of cake is Lucie baking in that slick oven?

We admire how this installation communicates the message of "home in a small space" in such a simple but interesting way. It also cleverly plays with our human desire to know what other people are doing in their lives.

Brilliant idea.

Who would love to have our offices in Piccadilly Underground for a day?
We can observe human behaviour all day... while everyone observes us back and spots who's the fastest typist, who's the best tea maker and who's the 'crazy one' of our lovely bunch.
